MAMtastic Year of Media Pocket
Media Pocket never stops evolving! Here’s a collection of its main developments from 2024.
As we complete another journey around the sun, 2024 has been a transformative year for Media Pocket. Our development teams have pushed boundaries and achieved remarkable progress with our MAM platform.
In keeping with tradition, we’re excited to share the key developments we’ve made to our media management platform. While our mission – to create the most adaptable solution for media companies – might sound straightforward, its impact is profound. From global broadcasters to local content creators, each brings unique challenges, and Media Pocket has evolved to address them all.
Here are some of our main highlights:
UI improvements
During the past year, we’ve focused on revamping the user interface for assets and projects. The asset and project views have been polished for a more organized look. You know, it doesn’t matter how good of a platform you have if your UI is bad. That’s why it has been one of our main goals to keep the usage of Media Pocket as intuitive as possible.
Another, even more, significant change to the UI is the new metadata view, where metadata sections have been combined into a single entity, and custom field editing has been streamlined.
Subcollections
Collections offer a tool to collect assets from different projects to an asset group, without uploading new assets or duplicating the existing ones. You can add members to the collection for collaboration or sharing, without them being members in the original project, and they won’t see to which project an asset belongs.
The subcollections feature enables hierarchical asset collections, which is useful, for example, when sharing portions of a large archive with internal or external users.
Search improvements
Searching for assets is one of the most important features of any MAM platform and is therefore always under development. Over the past year, we’ve been improving search functionality in both the UI and the API.
In the UI, we’ve added new search filtering capabilities. For example, you can now filter out projects that don’t have any assets in the hierarchy, search through project and collection hierarchies, and filter assets based on whether they have a specific custom field group added.
Additionally, it is now possible to search for ‘null’ values in text-based fields as well as null or filled values in date-type fields. Also, the speed of the search has been improved.
In the search API, we’ve implemented the same hierarchy search for projects and collections as in the UI. We’ve also added free-text search with search operators and included result-sorting functionality.
New publishing channels
During this year, we’ve added AWS S3 sharing capabilities, along with video stream creation using Bunny.net. Read more about these in our Zendesk.
Single Sign-On (SSO) improvements
We are all about streamlining workflows! To simplify user management, we’ve added SSO policies and user SSO management features. This makes administrative work easier for environments with a larger user base.

This article would be over 100 000 words long if we listed everything we’ve done in 2024.
You can find every new development and feature on our Zendesk. As we said, the list is long! And to be honest, next year it will be even longer! Our development teams will continue to focus on things like streamlining the archiving and sharing of material. So big things coming!

However, we’re always ready to discuss further and help you discover the best features to transform your workflow.
