Media Pocket is a cloud-based media management platform. In addition to serving as an image archive, Ålandstidningen uses it for image retrieval during story production and, soon, for article archiving as well.

A dedicated plugin inside their CMS allows direct image search and attachment to articles.

In Media Pocket, every media file is automatically stored in at least two copies. Users can access any archived material at any time, and the platform’s powerful search tools make finding content effortless.

An agile and comprehensive Nordic workflow

Media Pocket integrates seamlessly into a broader workflow that connects the entire editorial process from creation to publication.

Every new image and print-ready PDF is automatically saved to Media Pocket. Journalists create digital articles in the Norwegian Labrador CMS, accessing images directly from Media Pocket’s archive through a dedicated plugin.

Print-ready PDFs flow automatically through Media Pocket, where they’re converted from RGB to CMYK and delivered to both Ålandstidningen’s printing house and the Swedish Prenly ePaper system.

The workflow also incorporates Finnish tools CMS Publisher and Scoop, creating a truly Nordic editorial ecosystem.

Perhaps the most important part of this workflow is that all content is automatically archived in Media Pocket during the process. This ensures a secure and easily managed media library for future use.
