Thousands of Hours of New Content to Ruutu – Media Tailor Responsible for Content Delivery

Across December 2025 and January 2026, Nelonen Media expanded its Ruutu streaming service with a major content acquisition. The platform added over 2,000 hours of premium British programming from BritBox, and BBC Nordic+ alongside access to Marquee TV’s global performing arts catalog.

For the preparation and integration of these new content libraries, Nelonen turned to its long-standing partner, Media Tailor. Following the same proven approach used in previous library launches, Media Tailor managed the complete pipeline from asset reception through final delivery.

The process involved ingesting all materials into Media Pocket, including, for example, still images, metadata, and master files, as well as transcoding metadata into the required formats. Once everything was properly prepared, the content was transferred to Ruutu’s platform.

This wasn’t unfamiliar territory. Media Tailor has managed media logistics and playout operations for Nelonen Media’s linear TV channels and Ruutu’s VOD/SVOD services since 2016. What makes projects like this run smoothly is exactly that long-term partnership: workflows and processes refined over years enable seamless adoption of new services.
