Seamless Digital Asset Management from Sweden to the World With Media Pocket

StageSmarts, the home of intelligent power distribution units, is a company that enables the show to go on. One key part in that is Media Pocket.

StageSmarts delivers a new class of power distribution units designed specifically for the demanding needs of the media and entertainment industries. From Eurovision and the Paris Olympics to Bring Me the Horizon’s world tour, their products have found their place in the entertainment industry.

With top-quality craftsmanship as a priority, StageSmarts has sold products in over 30 countries, with global distributors offering them worldwide.

To efficiently share digital assets with distributors and sales teams, the company recognized an urgent need for a streamlined solution for it. In spring 2024 StageSmarts found the answer: Media Pocket.

“At the moment, we have 15 distributors globally who we work closely with. We adopted Media Pocket to make both my job and that of our distributors easier,” says Ebba Björnfalk, Head of Marketing and Communications, and continues:

“With Media Pocket, I no longer need to handle multiple email requests from our sales team for logos and other materials. Now, I can simply direct everyone to one place where they can access everything they need—product line drawings, technical information, and assets for social media, print ads, and more. It’s an excellent all-in-one sales tool for our distributors too.”

Digital asset management made easy

Media Pocket is a DAM platform that aims to streamline asset management processes, improve productivity, and save costs. It helps users to organize and manage their media files in a centralized and secure way. The platform offers a range of features that allow users to easily upload, store, organize, and share media files such as photos, videos, audio recordings, and documents.

Björnfalk says that she has used a DAM system before, so she was familiar with the concept before Media Pocket. However, her previous experience was less than ideal.

“Previously, I managed a challenging DAM system that also included a built-in PIM system. I liked the idea of it, but I thought the platform was quite complicated and a bit too complex for some people to use. So I wanted a more user-friendly system with, for example, a good user experience and layout.”

While exploring the web pages of various DAM service providers, a few things made Media Pocket stand out.

First of all, the price. There are plenty of flexible pricing options based on the storage size and users. Compared to other DAM software, Media Pocket is one of the most cost-effective options available.

What also gives Media Pocket its flowers is the platform itself:

I really like Media Pocket’s layout. The platform is intuitive and makes it easy to find, search, and manage assets. Adding metadata and tagging assets is straightforward, which keeps everything organized and accessible.

Björnfalk also appreciates how easy it is to introduce Media Pocket to her colleagues, distributors, or partners. She can easily send an invitation, and new users can be up and running within minutes.

“With the previous software I used, everything was more complicated. I had to onboard each person and reseller individually, and reaching customer support was a hassle. Setting up a new session required additional tools like TeamViewer, which made the whole process very time-consuming.”

“As the sole person handling marketing, I have a lot on my plate. I needed something easy, user-friendly, and seamless—something that wouldn’t take up too much of my time. That’s the biggest difference with Media Pocket, the user-friendliness.”

Smooth communication between Sweden and Finland

From Ericsson to Nokia, Sweden and Finland are well known for their technological expertise. That’s something that went through Björnfalk’s mind while realizing Media Tailor’s Finnish origin.

“I think I saw pretty quickly that Media Tailor is Finnish. And I was like, yeah, why not? They normally do pretty good stuff. I kind of like that you are close to home in a way,” she gives a laugh.

“Media Tailor seems more hands-on, easy to contact, and relatable than these big, major companies. I appreciate that, as we are quite a small company ourselves.”

As we all know, there’s no SaaS with only one S. To make it complete, software needs great service alongside it. This hand-on-hand approach has been nothing but successful between StageSmarts and Media Tailor.

I really appreciate that whenever I have a question, Media Tailor’s team responds right away with different solutions or suggestions. They’re hands-on, keep their promises, and, on top of it all, they’re genuinely nice people!
