Equality at Media Tailor
Equality and non-discrimination aren’t just legal obligations – they’re core values that lay the foundation for a fair, inclusive, and healthy workplace. At Media Tailor, equality, equity, and human rights are matters close to our hearts.
We want to ensure that everyone feels valued and seen for who they truly are. By upholding these core values, we foster a genuinely caring work environment for our most important asset – our people.
We recently conducted a comprehensive equality survey, which provided us with valuable insights into the experiences and perspectives of individuals within our workplace community.
Based on the results, our People Group, that is focusing on employee development, created a new equality plan. This plan helps us promote equity and inclusivity in a more structured way, ensuring they are reflected in our everyday actions.
The plan has now been published and reviewed internally, but we believe that true equality is built on openness and transparency. That’s why we’re also choosing to share our findings and insights beyond the walls of our organization.
Highlights from the equality survey results
33 out of 51 employees participated in the survey, resulting in a response rate of 65%. Let’s dig into the results:
85 %
of us felt that the team spirit within our workplace is very good or excellent
The result reflects a strong sense of trust and a positive atmosphere. Team spirit doesn’t happen by accident. Every smile, greeting, moment of listening, and word of encouragement makes a difference.
This is a result we can all genuinely be proud of, and we tip our hats to everyone who has contributed to building this sense of togetherness.
88 %
of Tailorians feel they receive help from a colleague when they need it
And that, above all, is a true sign of great teamwork! With our wide service portfolio comes a variety of groups and teams, each with their own area of expertise. Our daily work simply wouldn’t function if communication and collaboration stopped at team boundaries.
At Media Tailor, we keep things flowing smoothly across teams and groups. It’s easy to ask for help, and we’ve made sure the threshold is low.
Hierarchy exists mostly on the organizational chart. In practice, you can tap a member of the leadership team on the shoulder by the coffee machine, or anywhere else, whenever you feel like it. This kind of agility is one of our greatest strengths, and we’re committed to nurturing it.
70 %
of us feel genuinely valued by our immediate work community
To us, this speaks volumes about the everyday interactions, active listening, and genuine collegiality that are deeply rooted in Media Tailor’s team culture. We’re especially happy to see this reflected in the results (though not entirely surprised!).
21 %
of us feel that their mental workload has increased in recent years
We live in a time of constant change and that inevitably shows up in our daily work. At Media Tailor, we’ve been through significant transitions: the merger and the first steps toward internationalization last autumn have brought with them new ways of working, learning, and adapting. At times, also increased workload.
At the same time, the world around us is so fast-paced. A steady stream of negatively toned news, the uncertainty it creates, and the increasing challenge of balancing work and family life can all add to the pressure.
We’re glad that the majority of our team feels they’re coping well, but we take the message about mental strain seriously. Even though the biggest changes are now done or in pause, we’re committed to ensuring our workday remains sustainable going forward.
That’s why we will continue investing in well-being, open communication, and flexible solutions, both at the team level and across the organization. Everyone should have support when they need it.
85 %
of respondents felt that gender equality is upheld very well or excellently in the workplace
We work in the tech industry, where male dominance is still more the norm than the exception. In our 51-person company, we’re proud to have five incredible women and here, equality is something we live by, not just talk about. Our employee surveys and hallway talks confirm that all voices are heard and respected equally, regardless of gender.
And because small gestures can speak volumes, a big bouquet of roses appeared in the office on this year’s International Women’s Day, a token of appreciation for the light, warmth, and energy these amazing women bring to our work community.
In our recruitment process, gender is never a deciding factor, everyone starts from the same line. That said, we’ll admit it: whenever we get to welcome more female energy into the team, it genuinely makes us happy.
What we’re working on next
Below, we’ve outlined key actions that will help us take equality and inclusivity to the next level.
First and foremost, we’re committed to strengthening team spirit and maintaining a sense of community. We organize both company-wide and team-specific events that support connection and shared enjoyment. We also continue to observe equality between teams and regularly remind everyone of the important role they play in fostering a positive team atmosphere.
We will ensure that salaries remain equitable within the same job titles, taking experience and skill level into account. To support this, we will soon be publishing an updated internal salary table, in accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive coming into effect in summer 2026.
We are monitoring the distribution of workloads. Team leaders are responsible for keeping an eye on workload balance within their teams. Going forward, we’ll offer additional training and support to help them in their leadership roles.
Our goal is to grow together and as individuals. As technology continues to evolve, there’s a growing need to keep up with the required skills, which can understandably lead to concerns about one’s own competencies. That’s why regular development discussions are so important, to identify areas for growth and the support needed to achieve it. We actively work to address the training needs that emerge from these conversations.
Open communication is key to keeping everyone informed and aligned with the company’s current situation and any upcoming changes. We are therefore standardizing, updating, and expanding our internal communication guidelines. At the same time, we’re enhancing our Monthly meeting, which is an internal meeting that’s already considered a key channel for company-wide updates, making it even more effective and inclusive. Materials from shared internal meetings like the Monthly, will also be provided in English, ensuring our English-speaking minority stays fully informed about important company matters.
Alongside these concrete actions, it is the specific responsibility of both our People Group and company leadership to drive long-term initiatives that strengthen inclusivity and promote employee well-being.
All we need is 💚
Equality and inclusivity aren’t things you can fix once and forget. They require ongoing attention and the courage to ask, listen, and grow. When we keep empathy at the heart of our decisions and people at the center of everything we do, we know we’re heading in the right direction.
Fortunately, we have an incredible team where people feel safe speaking up when something’s not right. Here, you can be your true self even when the conversation gets tough. Caring doesn’t have to be heavy or serious. It’s about the small everyday actions, the occasional collective problem-solving, and just the right amount of laughter along the way.
